The metal clamps sold by Renner and others are for holding the hammer felts (gluing), espetially on very old pianos (felt or leather) The pression is enouth to clamp the felt with a little tension - not much anyway. having a few clamps as that is very useful for all kind of little work too. pression is 10 kpds env. Hot glue semms to be good for that use, but the hammer re-felters use it melted with a white powder to otain the same glue than for the ivories. (The white thing is "blanc d'espagne" - don't know the name in english) regards
