The polish required to make a pin and bushing function well togather will be
destroyed by steel wool and especailly Scotch Brite. These are abrasaives and
will score and scratch the pins. Please do not use such on polished surfaces.
If you will not use it on you mother's silver do not use it on key pins or
capstans.
