Noisy bridle straps

Since the old ones are often made of leather, on the ends, i use a drop
vaseline expensive care, to soften the leather, and it works qute well.
Glue is a bugger to get off later. I once repaired a piano on which someone
had soldered that metal web strap.  THAT was a pain to remove !!!
