Hi! The never-ending search for ways to deal with excess touch weight in Steinways has me wondering about a suggestion from an engineer friend. He suggested drilling holes in the hammer molding, and I know one rebuilder who has tried that and said the reduction in touch weight that he obtained was minimal. However, does anyone have information about how many holes you can drill without weakening the molding, what size, what spacing between them, etc? Thanks, Linda Scott
