Verdigris does show up on the wippen and jack flanges on some Steinways and in varying degrees of sluggishness. On my experience with the older Steinways I've serviced with verdigris, the hammer flanges seem to be the area always affected, wippen flanges mostly, then jack flanges sometimes. Keith A.
