Of course I mean that we do the very best as our skill permits to perform to that 100% theoretically correct tuning whether it is ET or an HT. There are times we come closer to the mark and hopefully that is for our most demanding clients. On using heels on the keys, I once watched a music video of Billy Joel pour a pitcher of water on the keys of his Baldwin grand so he could slide up and down the keys in his version of a glissando. I wonder what that did to the key bushings. I wasn't aware that Mr. Milsap kicked in the dampers of his "own" piano. If that is the case he is off the hook on damaging someone else's piano. As long as it is his he can do with it what he pleases. I guess this is in the same league with guitar smashing. A long time ago I did a concert tuning for the rock group "Queen", back when "Bohemian Rhapsody " first came out. I found Freddie Mercury to be the most filthy mouthed performer I had ever met and very inconsiderate to not only me, trying to do the best tuning I could on his "B" but also to the entire stage crew. On the other hand, his group, and he, became my favorite rock group rivaling the Beatles. Go figure..
