About a year ago I cleaned out a Baldwin SF10 at a high school where vandals
had discharged an entire dry chemical extinguisher inside the piano. Even
though the entire piano was saturated with this powder, none of the centers
were sluggish or affected in any way, which leads me to believe that the
powder is not the cause of your tight centers. I would find one of the worst
centers and try a little Protek and see if that frees them up. If not, I would
try a shrinking solution like alcohol and water and then dry them carefully
with a heat gun, working the centers gently.
