For something completely different...

My recommendation is a dedicated METAL bandsaw for PianoDisc work. I have a 14" Jet for
the wood, but for the paltry sum of $189 picked up a new horizontal gravity-feed
Korean metal cut-off saw. I'm not sure of the brand, but I've seen the exact saw with
many nameplates, including Jet. (It's a kind of Samick of machine tools...) With a 14 or
24 tooth blade, it handles steel, pedal pins, rail blanks, trapwork, and anything else.
It also keeps the metal chips out of the wood saw. This is not a spectacular saw, and
probably wouldn't be ideal for larger or more frequent work, but if it breaks I'll buy
another tomorrow.
