Ron Thanks for your comment, I haven't been in this game for long. I was told by another piano tech that new strings should be fitted within 24-48 hours after removal. I thought he said it would cause a problem with the soundboard, I'm not sure of the exact problem but I thought it was to do with the crown??. It does sound silly since the crown becomes more positive with all the strings removed. I understand what you said about removing some of the strings Do you have any ideas on what the problem might be.
