Hello Avery,
I have one Zimmerman grand in my clientele and it has the problem of most
of the damper guide wires sizzle when the bass section is played. The bass
overstrung angle is severe and the wires buzz like crazy on the bass wires
that are sounding. I had called Alan Vincent about it when it was new and
he said that the problem could not be happening since "he" checked them all
out before shipping to the dealers. I would not have put up with this but
my client is a non-complaining type and now the dealer has gone belly up
anyway. I would not recommend any Zimmermans because of this piano and the
attitude of their national warranty person.
You would not have got that response from Yamaha. But then, that is why
I recommend Yamahas.
