Hi Clyde,

I, too, have never done this repair but I think I am armed to undertake it
when the time comes. I remember a class on this and would remind you of an
important aspect. Be certain that the clamps are in place (dry run) BEFORE
you drill, otherwise wood chips from the drilling will lodge in the crack
and prevent a good seal when you are ready to glue. Sorry if this was
already obvious to you, but I thought it would be a helpful reminder. Let
me know how it went.
