Absolutely Frank.  This also won't help you for slight irregular hammer
contact i.e., middle string is slightly too low or left edge of hammer is
slightly higher than the middle or right. If you leveled the strings to the
earth, then leveled the hammers to the earth (when action is in the piano,
without moving the piano's location on the floor) that MAY work. 
Interesting thought though..?
