Lance, 

I've been happy with my Sears Craftsman 12", but I'm not a rebuilder--it
gets fairly light duty.  I have, however, sliced veneer out of a 4" block of
hornbeam with it using the 1/2  inch blade, which is the largest it will
take.  It cost $269 on sale.
