Mike -- I never have had any bad feelings toward anyone who asked for a
discount.
I however choose not give them. When people get a "no" for an answer, they
often are the ones who get flamed. It is not easier to tune a piano four
times a year rather than once, in fact, often the opposite. I often find
myself spending more time on these pianos and certainly if I have any time
left over, I donate it by taking care of an unending supply of other needs
(regulating, cleaning, fixing, etc.).

My wife and I employ a cleaning person.. the fee is the same no matter what
the interval is (or condition of the house), If I go to the doctor, the fee
is the same no matter how often I go (condition is always poor). If I hire a
lawn service, there is no discount (etc., etc.) Come to think of it, I
cannot think of any other profession that gives this type of discount!?!
Why are we different? I'm curious.

<<I am a customer, not a technician, but am curious about this thread. For
the customer that tunes 4 or more times a year; is it not a quicker and more
pleasant tuning for you? This may be a misconception on my part, but if it
is true it would seem to
indicate that some discount might be in order (also to account for the
regular
income stream). Please don't flame, I'm just curious.

                              Regards, Mike >>
