Here's a hint -- pick up some cheap golf tees and place them in the tuning pin holes to keep the spray out. Or save the old tuning pins and plunk them in the holes. I bought golf tees at Walmart, 75 for $1.79. I wouldn't take the chance of spraying without plugging the holes.
