I'm with Scott. I love my college situation, and there is a real community feeling here. I don't give discounts to students and faculty I don't know. I do $55 tunings for the faculty and students I work with and know well, mostly in the music school. It amounts to maybe 25 tunings a year. Of course, my contract at the school is for 20 hours a week, so I have an active outside business. Regardless, I get gobs of full price referrals this way, and I have a lot of real friends at the school. I realize not every situation is so agreeable.
