Once I had a Steinway which had this same type of tick the first time
you played a key or even lightly touched it.  I discovered the problem
to be at the bottom hole which was a little tight on the balance pin.
This piano had teflon bushings and was made in the late 70's.  After
lubricating the bottom holes with "one puffs enough" molybdenum powder,
the ticks stopped.
