In today's climate of sexual harassment accusations, etc.  I wouldn't even
consider removing my belt in a client's home.   To protect piano finishes I
wear a sweater vest in the winter time that extends below my belt (and it
has to go over my prominent gut to get there too).

In the summer I tuck the towel I carry in my tool kit over my belt buckle.
