One other point on the Baldwin return spring -- Watch for even position of the two "leafs", assuming it is a double leaf type. If they stick out unevenly, they push back on the keyframe unevenly, and even the best lubricated guide pins will eventually start to squeak from the diagonal force that results. So, if they are already uneven, try (with a vise) just weakening the stronger one to match the other. Audrey Karabinus, Seattle
