  Gee Newton I can't tell you where I first heard this but it seems that it
is the generally accepted drilling angle for tuning pins in all, or most, of
the articles written.  Several respondents to the list have mentioned it. If
you recall many months ago there was a thread about someone wanting
suggestions as to which drill press to buy, ect. There were quite a few
replies and among them were several that mentioned drilling angles as being a
consideration when selecting a press.  If I am not mistaken Steinway uses 7
deg.  Perhaps this is one of those things I know that I don't really know.
