Here is some information that might help.  'listserv' is what the
software is called, and it  allows automated mailing lists to be set
up in email.  Anyone can subscribe and unsubscribe at will.
Now you can send a letter to the group just by addressing it to
the mailing list                    pianotech@byu.edu
and it
goes to every subscriber.

For more information on listserv send an email message to
                   listserv@byu.edu
     and in the body of the message say
                   help
You will get a three page reply from listserv giving more
information, the most interesting of which is the "review' request
which gives a listing of all subscribers to the pianotech list.
