Bob Scott asked several telling questions. I do not have all the answers but I
have noticed the following:

All pianos of the same make and model do have _slightly_ different FAC numbers.
Moisture content of the board will vary the FAC numbers one the _same_ piano.
Pianos with FACs of 7,6,5 have the best shot at an aural tuning.
Small pianos benefit most from a SAT tuning.
Pianos with the straightest plotted line tune better.
Piano with the least straight plotted line tune worse.
Pianos with High F#s (12 and over) present tuning problems, aural or ETD.
Pianos with High A#s (8 and over) " " etc.
Pianos with high C#s (6 and over) " etc.
Good pianos with good FAC#s are _SO_ close aural improvement is Insignificant.
Poorly saled pianos can be improved aurally but to no descernable improvement.
An aural followed after an SAT tuning is the best of both worlds.
Really strange numbers can produce strange results.
The SAT is a wonderful power tool, like a drill press or table saw.
I _LOVE_ my SAT.

I hope these observations are helpful.
