I have never broken a pin or agraffe, but a few have broken on me. Biggest occurances are 20's vintage M's' agraffes. Seems they cranked them in too tight rather than fit them for a while. A while back I told the sad, sad tale of a broken ez-out in an M. (shutter) What a nightmare, but a carbide tip in a Dremel Tool saved the day. Next time I'll make that 'fish-tail' tool. Apparently not very often. It would interesting to know how many tuners have broken one and how many have not. In 38 years I never have experienced a broken pin. This time represents about 32,000 tunings. Also, I have never seen a broken agraffe. Have I just been lucky? Jon Page Cape Cod.
