The duration to set a microsave oven for is directly proportional to the volume of the material being heated. Duration is also dependent on the material that the container is made of-- best to use a material that is transparent to microwaves, such as high density poleyetheylene (which is used for most plastic storage containers). It is also a good idea to cover the container, loosely, which keeps the surface of the glue from drying out, retains heat, and prevent plastering the inside of your oven with glue in the event of "hot-spot" boiling. With a turntable, results are even better and high heat can be used without risk of "overcooked spots".
