The dealer I have been supporting for the past 12 years gets calls everyday
from people with pianos for sale. He doesn't often buy them or sell on
consignment so he gives them my #. I keep a list of these pianos and when
someone calls me looking for a piano I send the list to them. Along with the
list I send a letter telling them that they should have any used piano
appraised by a registered piano technician. Also in the same letter I suggest
they visit the dealer. When the store is not open his answer machine gives
my phone number for piano service.
There is much to be said for mutual support.
