809 Scam

Today I heard on the radio about a really nasty scam.  If you use a beeper, the
perpetrators send a message to your beeper with a return number in the 809 area
code.  The problem is, that area code is in the Carribbean--outside the
jurisdiction of the FCC.  If you return the call, the minimum charge is $25.
They put a sleazy message on the machine so you'll stay on the line--at a cost
of about $2.00 or more a minute.  If your beeper goes off and the area code is
809, be forewarned.  You'll be billed plenty for returning the call.
