Anton,

I agree with trying to limit our postings to short consise
comments/questions. Including the message one is
replying to is wouldn't be a problem if the original was short
and consise.

I don't think I want to see the list become an advertising
forum. A better place would be the Journal, which is set
up for it.

I doubt that I will be adding a can of hairspray to my kit,
although I believe Franz Mohr mentioned using it for
Rubenstein (bringing up the tone quickly?). I generally clean
the keys before I begin working on the piano. The natural oils
etc. from my own hands will be returned to the keys while
tuning.

At Yamaha's "Atfertouch" class LaRoy Edwards talked about
adjusting this down a bit to increase aftertouch. In your case
I would much rather add a front rail punching. That is the
problem. Your method will work provided as you said all of the
conditions are correct. You might consider carrying some
punchings and a long tweezer. It should take about 5 minutes to add a
punching to every sharp and you've treated the problem not the
symptom.

Anton, are you the pianist that carried his concert grand in
your special van? If so the Journal featured an article on you?

Sincerely,

David Ilvedson, RPT
