Wild Strings

     Of the many causes for wild strings, I've noticed that the most common
around these
here parts is faulty termination  --  fortunately this is also the cause most
amenable to
quick correction.  At the bridge end a bit of tapping down; at the capo end a
little
sidewise swipe or two and pulling up with string hook.  Won't fix all by any
means,
but it'll help often enough before the concert  --  and you can always come
back later
with the big hammer.
