Thank for the reply

More detail:

The piano as a lot of projection specialy in the pianissimo and medzo-forte
For chamber musique it's wonderful but is going fine with a symphonique
orchestra
but there is some restrintion in the sound at FFF.

answers to a couple of questions:

> 1) Why is the piano going to be restrung?

In the last two years at high treble section string broke all the time,
Also the piano is rent a lot some time in the summer for outside concert
or for some place with no humdity control, strings are oxidize and you can
take the bridge pin off with yours fingers.

> 2) Are you sure you've correctly measured string deflection?

In the Piano Tools Program of Termaine Parsons there is a bearing
calculation tool
the piano is unstrung and for example at the high treble with the
traditional coin method there is 1/4 of a inch between the allicot bar and
the line.

> 3) Are there any clues as to why the string deflection is so high?
> 4) Has any major work been done to the piano since it left the
>factory?

no

> 5) Is there any evidence that the nosebolts have been used to
>"adjust" the downbearing?

Back side nose bolt was close to zero (I use a dial micrometer) the front
nose bolt in the middle of the X push the plate up and the bolt of the
support bell was very
very (1/4 of a inch, déjà vu...) loose so l suppose that let the plate go
up with all the strings in tension.

> 6) What does the surface of the soundboard look like? Has there been
>any damage to the soundboard as a result of having this much pressure on
>it to date?

Soundboard look wonderful and sound like those big Japanese traditional drum.

Thank for yours advices
