Jim, In a message dated 96-07-24 16:43:01 EDT, you write: << Just for the record. Don't use the PVC glue found in hardware stores and which is used to fasten together PVC pipes. Repeat: DON'T. The glue youCAN buy in hardware stores is WELDBOND, a Candian product, which has many fine uses, including glueing on key ivory or the modern version thereof. >> I'm not familiar with the Weldbond product. Is this at all similar to the Dap Weldwood which is urea-formaldehyde glue? On the PVC cement you are absolutely correct, It's not the same stuff as PVC-E, which looks an awful lot like your basic white school glue. We use the PVC-E, which as has been mentioned is available from a number of suppliers, for many felt applications as it remains slightly flexible and doesn't have a tendency to soak through and harden the felt over time in the way that aliphatic resin does, i.e. Titebond or Elmer's Carpenter's Glue. We use a lot of these too but just for different applications. Stick to it, Allan Gilreath, RPT Gilreath Piano & Organ Co. Berry College Gilreath@aol.com
