Dear Folks,
    Regarding the falling fallboard.

Use a Bullet-stop!
What is this you may ask???
Take a look at your center-pin assortment holder. The long skinny
wooden-box-type with the sliding brass covers. That little button with a
spring under it (which holds the covers in place) is the creature in
question. This would give you a positive-lock on that puppy...and easy to
install.

They are sold in Woodworker catalogues...look under cabinet-parts & pieces.
They come with a striker-plate, which is secured by a small brad or nail. All
you need to do is drill (1) small hole for the Bullet-Stop & bang (1) small
brad to the key-cover. If you want a real antique look... use the one from
your center-pin-holder!!

Hope this helps.

Truly,

ps- If the fallboard trys to shift away from the spring, use one on each
side. Should work!
