3.   does not appear to have ever been any connection from the shift
lever to the keyframe,(no rub marks).



          The shift arm was in contact with a removable block that attached
with machine screws.  You should see the sockets for them in the bottom of
the rail above the vertical part of the shifter arm.
       You will need to make a new block that will screw to the bottom of the
action frame, and the lever will press against that.  You must remove the
block when you pull the action.
