We may be giving away our ages here, but I believe that the article pre-dated the book! Perhaps he later incorporated it as a chapter. I hate to admit it, but I really wasn't too thrilled with LTU when it first came out, but I read it amyway, figuring that anything John had to say was worth listening to. I use his "Guide to Restringing" as a reference even though I mike every string I take out of a piano. Sometimes even manufact- urers don't pay attention to their own stringing scales and plate markings. BTW, instead of older tech, I should have used the phrase "more experienced", huh? :) Les Smith lessmith@buffnet.net
