Barbara-- Sorry about the broken plate bolt. Perhaps the manufacturer can give you some advice on the matter, and whether to replace others, and I hope you post the reply. You asked about the possibility of sending a new bolt down the nearby empty hole -- the problem with that is that if there isn't a plate boss under it, an unsupported bolt could lever the plate down against the adjacent boss and crack.
