I've used the alcohol treatment in the tuning pin hole trick and it reduced the amount of jump enough so that the piano could be tuned with out setting aside lots of extra time to accomodate the jumping pin, can't put it where you want it frustration. I did a bit more than just swab it however, I covered the underside of the hole with my pinky, and poured wood alcohol in, stirred the puddle with a piece of pianner wahr, rubbing the sides of the hole, then letting the alcohol dribbbbble all over my hand and into a rag laying on the keybed under the hole. I tried an oversize pin first with out reaming, then the alcohol, then the same oversized pin back in the same hole with the same string. Worked good, lasted long, and still is. Why would any one choose to live in Greenie River, of all the places on this planet.....ofcourse there's always Rock Springs......right??
