Relocating capstans

Before relocating capstans you must first determine if this will solve the
problem .  To do this, make an adjustable capstan screw and try various
positions, taking standard measurements at each position.  The adjustable
capstan can be made as follows:
      1.  Remove the capstan from a sample note
      2.  Take a piece of hardwood about 3/8 x 3/8 x 1-1/4" and mount a drop

          screw near one end
      3.  Set this over the capstan location and adjust drop screw for
height
      4.  Slide the wooden block in and out, taking measurements all the
while,
          and decide if there is a better location.
      5.  If this doesn't work try something else.
