Replacing agraffes

Mark, my advice to you is to save yourself alot of grief and pass on this
one. It seems that problems are waiting to happen on this piano. If you MUST
replace another agraffe, you can inexpensively size the height of the strings
by using a small rectangular piece of wood (say 1x1x4, so you can hold it in
your hand while you work) drill a hole in the side near one end, just large
enough for the agraffe shank to fit, lay a small fine file alongside the
hole, insert the agraffe into the hole so that the shoulder of the agraffe
lays (lies?) on the file and rotate the agraffe with whatever tool you have
to turn the agraffe into the plate (You can make one), until you duplicate
the proper height of the string. You are removing material from the
underside of the agraffe shoulder. 4-10 complete rotations should do it, go
slowly and repeatedly check against the old agraffe. Be careful not to run
the threads against the file. You can also buy a milling tool to do this but
it is not necessary and leaves a rougher surface than the file
