I guess I misspoke when I used the word "burnish" in re to what happens to
the capo bar when a string(s) gets shoved around on it. (Although in truth,
that IS what happens)
No,I was not suggesting that moving strings about on the bar is a legitimate
technique for eliminating  the unwanted noises,any more than driving loose
pins into an unsupported block or smearing graphite paste is a cure-all.
My point, that I didn't get across, is:
       1.Assuming that the capo bar is ungrooved and properly shaped (more
like a V rather than a U) and,
       2. Voicing fails to get the BEST results,

a possible area to investigate might be the amount of angle that exists
between the capo and the front string rest.
I'm told that the ideal angle is no more than 22x and no less than 17x.
Raising the height of the string rest as I described in my previous post
might be indicated if the angle is under 17x
