I find myself leaning toward the "no ads on PIANOTECH" end of the spectrum on this question. I say "leaning" because more than one person whose intellect I have come to admire and value has spoken in support of this type of thing and I think there's more thinking for me to do on the subject. The point, previously made, that this is free advertising on a list not (I assume) maintained for that purpose seems to be a large factor in my feelings right now. A classified section designed for this very thing is offered monthly by the Piano Technicians Guild Journal but perhaps that publication is, in this instance at least, becoming a dinosaur in this electronic age. I "hope" not ... I value the PTG Journal greatly ...but what I "hope" may have little to do with this. The question of free speech is a touchy one but I am not convinced that the "right of free speech" means the right to say anything, anytime, anywhere, via any medium. I could be wrong about any or all of this...and I could change my mind tommorrow. Alan Crane, RPT Wichita State University crane@twsuvm.uc.twsu.edu
