Bad analogy on my part, or certainly the wrong choice of word chaining. I
didn't mean to imply that sandwich boards were the solid state version of
real spruce; only that the -argument- about the two would likely continue to
thrive in much the same way that audiophiles and guitar players discuss the
merits/deficiencies of solid state versus tube amplifiers.

BTW, what goes round comes round. There was a time that young folks thought
vacuum tubes were a new invention. Now that this is no longer true, I heard
the other day that most vacuum tubes were currently being made in Russia ...?
