It seems that specialist on lost Elizabethan literature, Ken Sloane, has
unearthed yet another gem. The following was apparently the last verse in an
epic poem about an English voicer that drank too much of the alcohol intended
as the carrier for his fabric softener. What a way to go.
The voicer, alas, got quite groggy,
And his thoughts on hard hammers real foggy.
He chose to use steam
(too much it would seem),
And the hammers came out sounding soggy.
