Tinned vs. Polished

I've used tinned wire for 17yrs because I've always lived near the water.
It's gratifying to see my stringing jobs looking clean year after year, when
others succumb to rust.   On a Steinway B I'd restrung, it was obvious after
a few years that the #15 wire was not plated.  If there was a significant
difference between the adjoining plated sections, I'd be hard pressed to
tell if there was a difference in quality.
