listserv questions

Good Monday morning everyone,

I've received some questions about the mechanics of the list
recently, and some of you have read the answers before.

1. Who is Vince? He is Vincent Mrykalo, the other piano technician
(RPT) at BYU. He came here two years ago from Memphis State where he
was their technician. I have asked for a separate email address for
him, but since we share the same desk, the same computer, and the
same internet connection they won't do it. He is a great guy and a
superb technician and rebuilder, but we sometimes disagree on things
political or philosophical, so his comments are his own and my
comments are my own. See who signed the message to find out who it
is from. Vince was the chapter delegate and I was the alternate in
Kansas City last summer.

To get a list of the subscribers to pianotech, use the request
"review". That always works for me. Remember to send the request to
listserv@byu.edu and not to pianotech. Leave the subject blank, and
in the body of the message say review pianotech
That's all, don't add anything else or the computer will give you an
error message.

If you haven't sent a help request yet, you ought to and that will
give you the requests that the listserv will respond to. Send the
message to listserv@byu.edu and in the body of the message type help.
If you send your requests in the a.m. the response is quicker than in
the p.m. because the fileserver gets backlogged later in the day. It
handles all email traffic on a higher priority than help requests.

The subscribers list keeps growing, and the discussions are fun to
read. Thanks for your input and participation. Welcome to several
new subscribers in the past month. One subscriber dropped because he
was on compuserve and it was costing him about $20 which was more
than the subscription was worth to him, so to you who are with
compuserve etc., I'm happy that you are still with us and I hope the
ability to chat, question, discuss and so on is worth your money.
