Regarding stack raising.. Probably a mis-nomer here... As I understand it, and as I have tried it, you can raise the front only....BUT, the 'front' as referred by Steinway in my discussions with them, is not the 'front' as you think it......it is the 'rear' of the brackets that is raised...the 'front' in Steinway nomenclature is the opposite side to where the player sits..... If you only raise the 'front', the drop screw height is barely altered. Clear as mud....just trying to help here.... I am remembering the grinding I had to do to the bottom of the pinblock to get the hammerflange screws to go under.
