[CAUT] Knuckle Direction

Paul 'usually' the line faces the flange.....but really more important is 
that the line faces the same way on ALL the shanks for eveness of touch.   
You can test the nap of the knuckle and place the thingees so that the nap 
runs 'toward the hammer...this will make for a smoother return and more 
positive power stroke.
