[CAUT] Which side to yank the butterfly spring?

I posted this on another list as a solution to a ticking sound on 2/3 of the
notes on a 2007 Wendl & Lung 151. I said to pull the wire to the bass side
and spread the coil to open it. He said it worked on every note but one.
Lubng the groove fixed that one.
My original thought was that there is a coating on the wire that causes some
stickyness. When the coil is bound up by pulling it to the trbele side, the
coil itself makes the tick. The direction the coil is wound changes the
side of course. I wonder if lubing the coil would work? Anyway, the
factories may be using a wire that causes this
