Here is the announcement: University of Michigan School of Music: PIANO TECHNICIAN WITH TUNER DUTIES/FULL-TIME NON-EXEMPT: Tuning Duties: Primary responsibility will be to schedule and provide for the periodic tuning and minor repair of pianos in the School of Music, including practice rooms and classrooms. Emphasis will be on providing stable tunings in these high-demand, high-use environments. Technician Duties : Commensurate with skill: Flexible schedule to include weekends. Qualifications: MINIMUM: Candidate must be an aural tuner familiar with advanced temperament checks and techniques. High School Diploma with technical training from a recognized school of piano technology, or college graduate with courses in piano technology. DESIRED: Bachelor of Music highly desirable, general music background desirable. Experience in an institutional setting, such as a school, conservatory or piano house.
