Alan, I used wood plugs mostly because I didn't have time to wait for anything. My thoughts on this are that no matter what you put in there cannot make the key weaker than it was with the weights in the holes, and the key was ok then. Also, the strength of the key should be in the continuous wood fibers in the top and bottom of the key. Or so methinks.
