[CAUT] pre-stretching new string?

If the pinblock is bedded to the plate flange, I can't see how wood expansion could allow any pins to move closer to the flange.

Don, it seems that your reply was about the bridge, but my question was about the pinblock's response to humidity.

  Wouldn't a sponge-like swelling also cause the closer pin to move closer to the hitch pin? or stay close to the same since it would move up and out from center of bridge core...
