[CAUT] pre-stretching new string?

Hi Cy,

I have no idea how the bridge moves. Ron's numbers may indicate that it
does somehow. I've often notice patterns of unison smudging that show one
string of a unison moving much more than another. I guess the causes could
be non parrallel notching--or the bridge rotating in the horizontal
plane--or rotating in the vertical plane or a combination of all three.

Strings also are observed to climb the pins. It is postulated that this is
caused by the bridge getting thicker. I wonder if anyone has checked for
climbing on DC controlled uprights? (I have not).

The solution is good humidity control.
